Why OH Why

It should be said of myself and Thumper, who ended up heading a new team of bloggers for QSS, that neither of us were drunk (well…I know I wasn’t….) nor regret having first opened our flappers about revitalizing the Blog. We did feel that a blog for QSS was a cool idea, that too much effort had already been put in it to simply let it die, that the QSS community deserved such a treat, and that if we felt like doing it we gosh darn well should. But really, that’s it.

There really isn’t much more of an answer for the question we’ve been getting left and right since we began our journey through the Blogosphere. I wish I could demonstrate Mark Anthony’s fabled sterner stuff in publishing a passionate manifesto and claiming 3 times rather than once a crown refused by Julius Ceaser, but only Sir Edmund Hilary’s words comes to mind, as he himself  answered the question of why he insisted on climbing Everest by simply saying “Because it’s there”.

THAT, however, does NOT in any measure mean we don’t get a great big kick in doing it! Quite the contrary, all five of us feel we’ve barely scratched the surface and feel more enthusiastic every day toward what we hope to make this blog into. QSS has already become much more than just a forum with film links; for many of us, it’s a second home, with places to goof off, confess, ventilate, play and even sway to the music of 3 awesome DJs. We make friends, share and communicate in ways that could never have been anticipated in years of yore, thus a blog is the logical next step for our community, and one that should be as much fun for you all to read as it is us for us to work on. 

We want this little patch of the QSS-verse to be for all of us, BY all of us, and so invite you all to write-in, suggest, comment, and even contribute – no entries submitted will be refused or rejected. Just ignored, if we do end up drunk…. Damn you, Samuel Adams!

Coming Soon

You may have we already noticed a roaster of awesome features on the Blog, with Urbangiggles’ The Dark Room, Terri and her bag of answers to nothing and everything, Rowanaboat’s (quasi) daily film suggestions and lest we forget, Thumper’s inside scoops on everything wrestling.  As previously stated though, we’ve only just begun.

We recently posted in the forum a call for Horror reviewers, which has already gotten a few takers so that in mere days and weeks we’ll be treated to an all-star team of Gore aficionados to bring us word on true gems of the genre.  The QSS Masters of Horrors will soon be followed by weekly Internet Café tips (yes folks, I WILL let someone more competent take that one over, you can all stop holding your breath…), the return of our little QSS On-a-Roll feature this time as a weekly digest covering the forum’s happenings, an as-yet-unnamed Sci-Fi/Fantasy round up, the lovelly radio lady Peggs bringing us music talk and interviews with Pegg’s Corner and her Radio partner MrBrownee bringing something quite special that I won’t spoil just yet.

We’re just getting started folks, but we won’t go anywhere unless you all enjoy yourself with what we have to offer. SO ENJOY YOURSELVES DAMN IT!
